For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really intrigued me
Narrative
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcaster is forced to cover the Israeli athlete hostage crisis. All the performances are believable, the comedy is in all the right places, and the pacing and length keep you from looking away before the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not giving away any of the plot
Some might find it tedious to not change the scenery, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and you did on this eventful day.
It’s thought-provoking without being preachy
They did a great job of touching on the political and emotional elements. The interweaving of footage from the actual event, including the broadcast footage, really enhances the experience.
A nice touch
While it’s not a film I’ll really watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I recommend to friends who like these types of films.
